"Being an American is more than a matter of where you or your parents came from. It is a belief that all men are created free and equal." -Harry S. Truman
i love all nations that i have been to but its been awhile since i have been in my own.. and its good to be in the place i was born and raised in and get a fresh perspective of it.
after being in many places over the past 2 years.. i have had my fair share of people from other places letting me know about America and its faults and trying to understand their perspective.. agreeing with them at times and getting angry at times at their views... and as one person told me.. "America is like the popular kid at school.. no one really likes them but everyone secretly wants to be them" ha.
as i am home i see people that are genuine about their relationship with God.. about their gratefulness towards God's goodness.. i see americans professing God blessing them with so much and having an amazing outlook on life.. they never bash or complain about other nations but would love to go out and help other places and bless people with the same blessing they have been given.
Although Americans might have their faults and sometimes that is all other countries see (ie. wars.. hollywood.. healthcare.. tightening borders)..our faults are just highlighted because many are interested in knowing what they are. Americans have so many great outlooks on life and help other nations when they are in trouble in incredible ways. They want to do their part and for the most part are helping others in incredible ways. its encouraging to see and be around!
"Our founding documents proclaim to the world that freedom is not the sole prerogative of a chosen few. It is the universal right of all God's children." -Ronald Reagan
