what a great day

so its been incredibly hot here in Perth, Australia. like to the point of waking up in the morning covered in sweat. yeah, that hot. but the weather completely changed 2 nights ago as we went into the city of fremantle

what is Fremantle?

Fremantle was established in 1829 as a port for the fledgling Swan River Colony and was the major city in Western Australia for much of its early history. it is the port and opening point to swan river, where perth city is located 30 minute drive up the river. It was a significant port into Western Australia and a place where many prisoners were sent to from England because they were running out of room for their prisoners. There is much opposition and isolation in this place even now to this day.

At the Perth YWAM base i am apart of, we do evangelism every Thursday night. Fremantle is this months focus on reaching to tell about who God is and His love for the people in this place. As we went to this place last Thursday, it was an incredibly cold night but it was so good to worship in the park with 200 others proclaiming God's name in this city struck with isolation and separation. I felt God's presence in that place as the army of God rose up and worshipped Him.

The next morning the entire base had a worship and prayer time from 5 to 7 am. we were all up bright and early and it was again a crazy cold morning. Because this city struggles with issues of isolation and rejection as a whole, it not only affects the city, but the base and all of us that live here. After that prayer meeting, there was a greater sense of unity and joy for what God is doing in and through each of us.

i was incredibly blessed and encouraged. i now can fully say that i love being here despite my shortcomings, God is a gracious God and so good to me. i am beginning to feel like this place is home, because i see Gods heart for me and the people that are around me.
