13 days...

13 days till i go.. i am in great anticipation and hope in going! i am still waiting for my visa to be confirmed for sure which is making me nervous.. but being anxious and worried about it won't change the situation.. worry is like trying to drive a car with the engine next to the car..

i need to remember the oldy but goody...

"dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done." philippians 4:6

thankyou Lord for all you have done.. for me.. for those around me.. you are a God of miracles and a God that can move mountains.. thankyou for your continuing promises and deep love for me and all of your beautiful children.

"then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." philippians 4:7

March 2012

hello family and friends!

Well, I have been off the radar for quite some time and wanted to update you on the new news! and the direction God is leading me in. I have been home now for 7 months.. how time flies! It’s been a challenging and refreshing time as I have enjoyed the freedom to drive, explore, run, nanny, work at Starbucks, see family and friends and enjoy the beautiful San Diego sun! The time has come now for me to move on into the next step and wanted to share it with all of you!

HIGHLIGHTS.
I was excited to be celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with family at home since I haven’t been here the past 2 years. I have been enjoying working at Starbucks the past few months as I love the company, my co-workers and customers. I will be sad to leave and not make lattes anymore! Yet, at the same time I am excited that when one chapter closes, another begins!

FUTURE.
So what does the future look like for me? A few months ago I was bouncing around a few ideas of what I could possibly do and how they match up with what God has put on my heart. So, I will give you a summary of where He is directing me to work and what that is going to look like!

The past 2 years overseas were challenging to say the least and I began to realize that my walk with God isn’t a sprint .. it’s a marathon. God laid Europe on my heart when I began to read about the revivals that broke out there long ago, and the European nations that have now dissipated to secular humanism. I asked God to put a city in Europe on my heart, and he gave me London and confirmed it over and over again during my time in Tanzania and Bangladesh. During that time I also became more passionate about midwifery and how I could see myself working in that field.
I thought it a good idea to combine the two and go to school for midwifery in London. But as I researched it.. I realized it is more expensive for an American to do it there than it is to do it here in the States.. I also researched if I could work in London but as an American I can only intern. Yet, I still had the desire and felt the call to go to London. Many doors were closing on me to do things that might seem to make more sense to the average person, but God began to speak to me about laying my ideas and plans at His feet.

Once i realized that, another door was swinging wide open that had always been at the back of my mind as a possiblity! And that was the opportunity to work in a ministry in Perth, Australia called Megacities. You might ask, “Well.. what does Perth have to do with London?” good question! Perth has been my home and family the past 2 years and know that it is the perfect place for me to go to because of the doors shutting for me to go directly to London. The opportunity for me to be involved in this ministry called Megacities will help equip and launch me to work in London in the future.

What is Megacities? Megacities purpose is to focus on a city of over one million people for a period of 12 months acting as a catalyst for city wide transformation. They do this through strong partnership between the local Body of Christ and international, multi-disciplined teams. Together, they work at a grassroots level to strengthen existing ministries and pioneer new works. This is my vision and goal for the next year and am excited to know that I can be apart of God’s work in a team and in one of the biggest cities in the world.
Megacities focus for the year 2012 is London which is crazy because God had been giving me a heart for London before i knew it was the next city they were planning to go to. I see this next year in Perth as a time where I can begin to prepare to be launched into London, surrounded by other missionaries who are an encouragement and also have that vision to see the lost set free in this great city.

Communication
I would like to raise my communication levels with all of those that want to partner with me and will also be sending out a bimonthly newsletter through the post for those that like to get snail mail like me. :)
Along with prayer, I also would like to develop a team to partner with me monthly in physical needs. My monthly need is $700 and it is my desire to not approach this by my own effort, but also by asking you to partner with me in the area of finances, to be able to share in the blessings of knowing others will have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. I am planning to leave for Perth, Australia on April 10th and stay till the end of 2012 with perhaps the opportunity to go to London in that time and hope to launch into living in London at the end of this year.

*If you would like to contribute directly and have it be tax-deductible, how to pay is on the right side toolbar.

blessings!

Isaiah 55: 5,12
“Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy one of Israel, for He has endowed you with splendor...you will go out in joy, and be led forth in peace...”
