someone's calling to go is just as important as someone's calling is to stay

i need your help! i just finished the Shine seminar on Human Trafficking and Prostitution Ministry. God used us continually to pray for the girls that we knew personally and then go visit them in the windows as well! 

but i cannot continue to do this work without your help! would you consider supporting what God is doing in the red light district?  would you consider praying for the breakthrough of finances to come in?

God is good

my good friend, whom i have met since being here, is an ex-prostitute and a couple weeks ago was baptized for the first time. not only is she an incredible person who has given her life to the Lord and has completely turned it around, but i have intense prayer times with her every Friday night while the other girls doing ministry go out to talk to the girls in the windows. it has been such a blessing to work and pray with her! the best part is, the girls come back and we hear the stories right then and there of what happened while they were behind the windows talking to the prostitutes or talking to the pimps or traffickers. Not only that, but what they say always lines up with what we had spent time praying for.. such a confirmation of what God is doing here!!

the most exciting things when the girls come back from talking to those in the windows is when they come back and share that another girl has given her life to the Lord! we personally have seen that happen 4 times in the past 6 weeks!!

i was talking to a YWAM guy today who was having a conversation with a lady that has done work in ministry in the red light district for the past 10 years. do you know what she told him? she said that there has been more going on in the windows with girls coming to know God.. coming out of the windows.. conversations started about God.. more things happening like that in the past 6 weeks then she has seen in the past 10 years. yeah.. that is encouraging to hear! breakthrough! God is doing things here in Amsterdam! Praise the Lord that i can be here for such a time as this

The ex-prostitute taught me how to love God

To see someone in love for the first time.. For them to realise that there is some God out there that loves them for their true identity as a daughter of God or a son of God and to see their thirst for God is probably the most beautiful thing I have seen .. I want that.. I want to be so in love with God like that.. You don't see that raw love for God very often.. But when I do see it.. There is usually an intense testimony behind it.. The stories i have heard from ex-prostitutes and ex-pimps of how they have found God is truly beautiful.. These people are revivalist's and spend their time with their eyes on Jesus because they know that their old lifestyle didn't do anything for them.. They are confident in who they are in Christ and not afraid to share it with anyone and everyone around them.. The ex-prostitute showed me how to love God.. Unoffendable heart with open arms towards Jesus. He first loved us.

getting to know the girls who are getting to know Jesus

every friday night for the past 6 weeks a team of us have been going to a smaller red light district and have had a focus of talking to the girls in the windows there. At the beginning of our time, the girls seemed reluctant to let us in if we got in at all. at the end of the 6 weeks, they were coming up to us or opening their doors for us to come in and we no longer had to initiate smiling or waving.. they would wave or smile first! we have seen incredible breakthrough with their response towards us simply wanting to talk and spend time with them.

Prayer and worship have been the forefront of seeing change in this place as well as burning hearts for Christs love to reign in this place!

On Friday night, 3 teams of 2 people went out to the less than 20 windows to talk to the girls. i felt to stay back and pray because i was so overwhelmed with what God has been doing here in Amsterdam that i needed to intercede for Gods heart for the area. We had an intense prayer time.

When the teams came back, none of us were expecting one of the teams to tell us that 2 of the girls they were talking to accepted Jesus as their Saviour! the best part of it all was we were all apart of it. its the same girls that all of us have talked to, or smiled at or prayed for. we know their faces.. we know their names.. we have prayed for them over and over again. it makes my heart leap for joy to see their hearts want something more. they want to get out of the windows.

i think i mentioned last week to keep the girls in the windows in your prayers because they want to leave the windows but need to stay because of financial reasons.. those girls i was talking about were the ones i visited last week that accepted Christ this week!

there is a bible study specifically for the girls in the windows that is open for them to attend as well as for them to do jewelry making.. both set up for them specifically by the missionaries working in the red light district.

continue to keep these girls in your prayers... God is doing something radically here and its obvious!
