Hope for the Future.

I am excited to share that I will be working in the RED LIGHT DISTRICT with victims of sex trafficking! i wanted to share in this work with others.. through sharing stories.. prayers... and support!

Preparation-
I am in a transition period to prepare to work in the RLD for 2 years. part of that preparation is getting others involved.. to seek God's heart in how He wants you to be involved. He has spoken to me already on how to be involved .. He may be speaking to you as well? a possible opportunity to be apart of something that has eternal value and lasting results in an area that is finally being exposed and highlighted to the world as an injustice- HUMAN TRAFFICKING.

Investment
MONTHLY COMMITTED GIVERS. would you like to be one of the 28 people who can give $50 a month or 14 people who can give $100 a month?

i am also looking for those to partner with me in prayers! PRAYER. the great thing about prayer is that we can do it anytime...anywhere... and with anyone.  the women in the RLD need your prayers..the men need your prayers.. i need your prayers!

Monthly Need Layout-
Accommodation- $400
Clothing and Toiletries- $100
Food- $200
Ministry expenses- $160
Tithing-$140
Travel (saving for upcoming flight and travel expenses)- $400
Total = $1400

$1400 is the number the Lord gave me to begin to raise for monthly support. However, if i am not able to reach my goal.. I will still be going as i have still gone in the past with as little as getting by with sometimes $100 a month. God provides in the craziest of ways but I don't want to do this alone...I need you! This broken world needs amazing people like you to be apart of changing it through simple acts of love like encouraging missionaries and monthly giving. it is so simple and yet brings incredible LIFE and CHANGE and BLESSING!

Sowing-
It dawned on me the other day when i heard the analogy of instead of buying a Starbucks drink you can give to a missionary. we all know that but i know it goes deeper. you buy a Starbucks drink and you drink it. awesome. it kinda ends there.. the drink didn't necessarily have any lasting fruit from drinking it...though it did taste great! However, you instead choose to use that money on Kingdom investments, (ex. on Human Trafficking work, on darkness finally being exposed in the light, on Prostitutes finding Jesus and getting saved.) That sounds like seeds are being sown. That sounds like lives are being transformed.. that sounds like ETERNAL INVESTMENT.

Personal struggle-
For me personally, it seems so attractive to go get a job and provide for myself and not expose my need. However, that is not what He is calling me into. He says Liz, what you are doing has eternal investment and eternal rewards.. so keep on doing it,, keep on PRAYING, keep on ADVOCATING, keep on EXPOSING, keep on DOING! It's not easy, but then again neither was Him dying on the cross for us. He will receive the reward of His sufferings!

What do you receive in return?
If you are a monthly giver, you will receive prayers from me, personal monthly encouragements, postcards and follow up of what God has been doing through my blog! oh and of course, ETERNAL REWARD... which is the greatest!

the soul behind the window

Behind the window and red lights, for all mankind to observe, judge, point, laugh, mock, degrade, and stare, there is an actress with a model pose, fake smile, seductive wave, and a costume to play the part.   An act performed by a slave; physically, emotionally, psychologically.  A girl giving the performance of a lifetime in hopes to dodge a brutal beating from the same man who says he loves her.  Determined to fool the opposite sex in order to spare a family member from torture or death.
In the midst of depravity and lust surrounding the lost souls behind the windows, you, Father, don’t see the lingerie, fake smile, and bare flesh but you see your daughter, the babe you knit together in the soft warmth of her mother’s womb. You gave her a name, unique characteristics, and breath as she came forth into the world. That same world that would enslave her, give her another name, pervert her unique characteristics, and suffocate the very breath that keeps her heart beating.
Her eyes, once glimmering, now empty.
Her smile once beaming, now seductive.
Her voice once joyfully laughing, now speaking perversion.
Her heart once tender, now hardened.
Her skin once smooth, now swollen and bruised.
Her womanhood once untouched, now abused every day, sometimes every hour.
Her emotions once alive, now dead…a million miles away.
Her legs once running freely, now forced open by uncountable perpetrators.
Her hair once pulled back into pigtails and braids, now pulled and ripped by a sick fantasy.
Her nose once smelling the fragrance of flowers, now engulfed in the stench of sexual sin.
Her ears once hearing the whispers of affirmation, now hearing fits of rage and degradation.
Her hands once coloring red hearts & pink flowers, now forced to grope what should be hidden.
Her stomach once full, now starving.
Her knees once stained green by grassy parks, now calloused by forced submission.
Her arms once embracing a cuddly teddy bear, now wrapped around a stranger in vain affection.
Her lips once red from a lollipop, now chapped from lipstick rubbed off.
Her neck once holding up the face of adventure, now strangled by the hands of violence.
Her feet once playfully ticklish, now nervously twitching with anxiety.
Her body once covered in modesty, now stripped of innocence.
But there, yes right there, in the midst of hell on earth is you, God, who loves mankind so much, “He gave His only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” - John 3:16
Out of the miry pit He brings us, not to condemn but to rescue, restore, and redeem.  Freedom, justice, comfort – “…to give them beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.”  -Isaiah 61:3
You reached in and pulled her out.  The drunken tears of weeping covering your hand, the broken pieces of her flesh piercing your heart.  All the demons left her for dead but not You, her true Love.  She was created to live in your beautiful Kingdom.  Never had she felt so loved and beautiful in her rags.  Although she can never return the same love You show, your grace never runs out and your love never ceases.  Like the innocent babe You created in her mother’s womb, so will she return to the hands that created her, for salvation is near to all those who seek and embrace what has already been given at the
Cross.
The switch has been made.  Her old self is gone and her new self experiences a life she never thought possible.
Her eyes once empty, now filled with hope.
Her smile once seductive, now genuine with gladness.
Her voice once speaking perversion, now proclaiming redemption through a man named Jesus.
Her heart once hardened, now devoted to the Savior.
Her skin once swollen and bruised, now radiating light in the darkness.
Her womanhood once used for abuse, now pure as gold and white as snow.
Her emotions once dead and left a million miles away, now alive and close as ever.
Her legs once forced open by perpetrators, now walking in love and joy.
Her hair once pulled and ripped, now flowing in beauty.
Her nose once engulfed in the stench of sexual sin, now overwhelmed with the fragrance of the Holy Spirit.
Her eyes once empty watching the depravity of man, now radiating watching the Kingdom of God all around.
Her ears once hearing the screams of rage, now hearing the praises and shouts of joy to the Lord.
Her hands once forced to grope what should be hidden, now lifted in worship to an omnipresent God.
Her stomach once starving, now full of the Word of God.
Her knees once calloused from submission, now healed through relationship.
Her arms once wrapped around strangers in vain, now embracing the love of her Father.
Her lips once chapped, now hydrated with pure affection.
Her neck once strangled, now holding up a head anointed.
Her feet once aching, now dancing to the beat of worship music.
Her body once stripped naked, now clothed in righteousness.
Now, behind the protection of the Holy Spirit.  An eternal soul preparing for eternity in a Kingdom of joy, warmth, kindness, integrity, honesty, happiness, love & purity.  A place where He will wipe away every tear and where death, mourning, crying, and pain cease to exist.
-written by my sweet friend Megan Pratt, who just spent the past 6 weeks with me... working and learning about what really goes on behind the scenes in the red light district and the windows. she puts it so well, i needed to repost. thanks Megan!
